Educational Events

The Ontario Respiratory Care Society Educational Events include:

Research Programs

Research Grants, Fellowship Awards and Education Awards for Advanced Respiratory Practice programs support research and graduate study by health care providers in the field of respiratory care. The ORCS Research and Fellowship Committee evaluates applications for funding and develops policies and procedures for the Research Program.

Publications

The Ontario Respiratory Care Society Update is a professional development publication containing respiratory articles, information about ORCS activities, distributed three times each year. The ORCS Editorial Board plans and oversees the preparation of Update.

A supplement, Research Review, highlighting researchers and their studies, published jointly by the ORCS and the OTS, is distributed annually.

A third publication, Connections, is published by the Respiratory Health Educators Interest Group three times each year and is sent out to members of the RHEIG with Update. is distributed annually.

Continuing Education Fund

A Continuing Education Fund is available to support members' attendance at seminars and conferences pertaining to respiratory care. To apply, send a letter indicating your current position, Lung Association and ORCS involvement and how the information learned will be utilized in your work. Funding is limited. The maximum award is $200.
